Mission Focus
Mary Van Rheenen and her husband Keith Holmes have served in Europe since their commissioning in 1996. They are based in the Netherlands but work with Romany, who live all over Europe. Romany (Roma and Sinti) are the largest minority in Europe. Even though Romany (Roma and Sinti) no longer live in horse-drawn caravans, many do continue to move in search of work. Deeply rooted discrimination makes it difficult for Romany to access education, reasonable economic opportunities, and sometimes even the Good News about Jesus Christ.
Mary's work has helped to create an educational program called Davar: Bridging to Literacy. Read more about Davar here.
