Worship | Our Approach
We believe God is the audience in worship.
We believe God is the audience in worship. The congregation, worship leaders and choir are present to direct prayers and praise to God. We strive for worship that is creative while being traditional (robed choir, using a hymnal) and liturgical (an awareness and affirmation of our place in the Church year). Beyond its weekly services, Third also observes the Church seasons, from Advent through Pentecost.
Worship inspires all that we do at Third. We are blessed to participate in a grand sanctuary — which engages all our senses—stained glass windows along with an organ fitted with 72 ranks and almost 5,000 pipes, and a new Steinway ‘D’ grand piano. Third encourages scripture reading, contemporary messages, new and old hymns and opportunities for personal commitment and renewal. The church’s location in the arts district of Grand Center is explains our encouragement of, and participation with, local and community artists. Our services usually last for one hour.
